Patricia Kavanagh Growing up on the shores of Galway Bay, Patricia was greatly inspired at an early age by the ever-changing light on the sea and the Burren hills beyond. Her love of Connemara and its dramatic skies and landscapes began with family outings and day trips and she remembers with fondness the first time her father pointed out the Twelve Pins to her. Patricia has experimented with watercolours and acrylics but she chooses oils as her preferred medium. Her paintings are a collection of the subjects and places she loves particularly the west of Ireland and Scotland. Her fascination with Polar Regions has influenced her work and this is reflected in many of her paintings. By contrast her floral paintings bring a sense of tranquillity to her collection. Having developed her art and gained experience over time she has recently opened her own studio in converted old stables at her home where she works as a full time painter.
